Only readers who are emotionally stable can read this article to the end. I bet it’s going to be the most disturbing weird content you’ve ever read. I was utterly shocked by this piece because it depicts the wickedness of humans in its highest esteem.

A father is supposed to care for his children and make sure no harm reaches them, Joseph Fritzl proved to be the complete opposite, a clear illustration of a devilish father. Elizabeth Fritzl was supposed to return home after completing her daily outdoor activities. Her mother, Rose was not so surprised or terrified because the girl had run away from home a couple of times before that day and she was confident that the police would find her like they always do.

No one saw her not even her close friends, where the hell was Elizabeth? There was no need for further delay she filed a missing person report at the local police station. Elizabeth stayed missing for weeks putting the entire family in a horrible mental and emotional state.

The hope of Elizabeth’s return seemed to be fading when a letter appeared at the front door. In it, the girl wrote that she was fed up with the family situation and she sought sanctuary outside. She told them not to bother looking for her because they will fail and they did for 24 years.

The last day Elizabeth would see sunlight

Building a bunker in your house was a necessary move in the late 90s, it was the period when nuclear weapons were in rapid development. Joseph Pritzl got approval from the government to construct a room bunker 20 feet below the ground. And on the final day of construction Joseph called her daughter to help hold the door while he hammered the nails to its hinges.

Unfortunately, she was helping to construct the space that will be her home for two decades. He dragged the girl in after the construction and sent her unconscious with an ether-soaked towel.

It was perfect, the girl had always bragged about disappearing to join a religious cult in a big city so the police didn’t press further when Joseph told them she eventually got what she wanted. Obviously, there was no need to question Joseph’s claim because the cops themselves could bare witness to some of her runaways

Life in the bunker, Joseph’s terrible desire

A lot happened in 24 years, so many discoveries and events but none of these involved Elizabeth. Living in the bunker was like hell, was it the rats she had to kill with her hands, the periodic scorching underground summer heat, or the feeling that she will never see sunlight again because no one outside was looking for her, not after the monthly letter she wouldn’t forget to send to her mother. To Rose, she was a girl who needed to be given the space and time to heal her wound.

For the first few days of her stay, Joseph had her arms chained behind and strapped to the metal bed and after two weeks he changed the position of the chain to her waist giving her more space to move about. He decided to remove the chain after a year this was because the girl had stopped fighting for freedom and it wasn’t sexually convenient for him.

Right from her second day of captivity to her release in 2008 Joseph raped her more than 3000 times. And within that period of 24 years, she gave birth to seven children who often had to watch their father rape their mom.

The kids

Joseph realized that there was no way Elizabeth could care for the seven children alone with little resources, there was a need for quick action. Four of the kids mysteriously appeared at the family’s front door. Elizabeth had sent a letter that she was sending them over to the family so they could share her burden.

One of the kids died two days after birth due to breathing difficulties and Joseph burnt the body in an incinerator, that was the only thing he could do.

Joseph often threatened Elizabeth and her children, he told them never to try breaking out because the door had an electric shock installation and they would all die if they move too close. Aside from the beatings taking off the electricity was his regular way of punishing them, he could leave them in total darkness for several days.

Bringing the ordeal to an end

Her 19-year-old daughter fell ill and Joseph had to take her to the hospital after Elizabeth’s plea. The doctors noticed something suspicious, apart from the sickness the frail-looking child was behaving like everything was new to her.

The hospital had to go to the media begging the mother of the sick child to show up if they were going to have any chance of saving her life.

Elizabeth also viewed the broadcast from her bunker with his two boys and she pleaded with her father to let her out so she could save her daughter’s life. Joseph at the time was growing tired of his two decades of crime, he wanted to let her out but wanted to do so without arousing too much suspicion. And he did it!

Joseph told the doctors that Elizabeth and the kids appeared at his doorstep after escaping from the cult but it was too sudden and his story was not adding up this time, so they didn’t believe him.

Elizabeth narrated her story to the cops after they agreed to her request that her father would not be allowed to see her again.

Joseph Fritzl was sentenced to life in a psychiatric prison for multiple charges including murder, rape and enslavement.
